Almost9

Here’s my new visual experiment, Almost9.

I like very much to photograph at night and under the rain, my camera probably don’t share my taste of pouring water over it but I don’t mind, so I decided to test the low light capabilities of the EOS7D on a rainy night.

I recently have watched some Wong Kar Wai movies and I belive they inspired me in some of the visuals of this little movie.

The capture was made with a Canon EOS 7D, ISO 800 / 1600, EF24mm f2.8 and EF100mm f2 USM lenses, 1920×1080, 24 frames, edited in Premiere Pro.

The music was made with loops in Garage Band.

Low light and bad weather photography

Well, here I am again dealing with the rain!

I just love to photograph under the rain, my camera probably don’t share my taste of pouring water over it but I don’t mind.

I’m doing a new video clip (more about this soon) and I recently have watched some Wong Kar Wai movies and I belive they inspired me a lot on making this new video and also these pictures.

Night Photography – beyond the light of the day

I really like to photograph at night. Night photography demands more on technical knowledge than daylight photography, the light is way different from sunlight, both in color and intensity.
For the photographer the rhythm must be different, every shot takes a longer time than an ordinary daylight shot, it is not a matter of fractions of a second. When you’re photographing at night you have to click and wait until the light is fully registered, every picture takes several seconds, minutes and even hours for the correct recording of the light.
The longer the exposure, the farer you’ll be from reality, you stop shooting what you see to start shooting what you interpret from a scene.
