Rainy Days and Photography

10 03 2011

It’s been a long time since my last post on this blog, I’ll try to keep it updated more often.

Today I’m posting some pictures I’ve done on a very tedious rainy afternoon.

I usually say that rain always helps me to find some good places to photograph, I belive that rain proved to be very usefull for my photography again.

See you all soon, all the best,

Rain – a short movie by Armando Vernaglia Jr

20 09 2010

Through my career as a photographer, I was most influenced by filmmakers and painters than by photographers, so when I decided to start making movies, I decided to pay a tribute to my masters. This short movie, rain, is the first of a series, and I tried to make it as a homage to Akira Kurosawa and Monet.

The Chopin’s Prelude in D flat major Op28 Nº15, also know as Raindrop Prelude, interpreted in this video by Robert Stahlbrand (pianosociety.com) was first used by Kurosawa on his famous film Dreams, in the Crows episode.

Hope you all like and I hope I’ve managed to do a proper tribute for two of my masters.

The capture was made with a Canon EOS 7D, EFs 17-55 f2.8 IS USM and EF 100mm f2 USM lenses, 1920×1080, 24 frames, edited in Final Cut Pro.

All the best,
