Place des Vosges, Paris, France

After posting the Eiffel Tower, Opera Garnier , Louvre , Luxembourg Gardens and the Pantheon photographs, we’re going now to, in my opinion, the most beautiful Paris square, the Place des Vosges, at the Marais district.

When in Paris and at the Place des Vosges, you must enjoy a lunch or a dinner at the La Place Royale restaurant and check out the Gateau fondant au chocolat et creme dessert.

Luxembourg Gardens and the Pantheon, Paris, France

After posting the Eiffel Tower, Opera Garnier and Louvre photographs, we’re going now to other two beautiful places in Paris, the Luxembourg Gardens and the Pantheon. I’m posting both at the same time, because it makes sense to visit these two places on the same day for those who are planning travelling to Paris, since they are near each other and don’t take too much time to be seen.

To visit the Pantheon, it’s very convenient to use the Paris Pass, that also enables you to visit the Louvre, the D’Orsay amongst many others museums and churches in Paris and around it.

The Louvre Museum, Paris, France

I think the great photograph, which make us dream and make us being proud of having taken it, is the result of a range of factors, that includes the perfect subject, underneath the spectacular light, in a photographer’s inspired moment to which he succeeds aligning his cultural view with his technique and lastly in the instant that everything connects, he is with the right gear in his hands.

It doesn’t always happen, sometimes we have the technique and the gear, but the light placed by the nature simply is not the one we want. In other situations our flawless subject is being reconstructed and covered by billboards and panels. Finally, we can get everything right but having left the gear at home. How many opportunities we miss by not having our camera at the time things happen.

But there are days, those rare, when everything works in favor of the photographer, in which he’s with the right gear, with the appropriate techniques, in the perfect place and at the right time, when he is rewarded by nature’s most dazzling light.

In my long life working as a photographer, I can count on my hands how many times it has happened, but fortunately it happened, on September 27, 2011, when my wife and I were at the Louvre, in Paris.

These photographs are those that I’m very proud of having taken, and I can say the resulting pictures you’re seeing are almost straight out of the camera, the RAW files were converted using Canon’s Digital Photo Professional into tif files without ever altering them on Photoshop (OK, there was a little dirt spot on the sensor and 2 or 3 dead pixels that I removed using PS, but only that!). :^)

Palais Garnier, inside and outside the Opera, Paris, France

After the photographs of the Eiffel Tower, certainly one of the most photographed places in the world, now is the time to post some images of a beautiful, athough not so popular place, the Palais Garnier, a theatre also often referred to as the Opéra Garnier, Opéra de Paris or simply the Opéra.

That night my wife and I saw a beautiful concert of chamber music with pieces by Mozart and Mendelssohn, a night to remember. =^)

Eiffel Tower, pictures from the most famous Paris landmark

For some time this blog is out of date, this has ocurred for both work and – finally deserved – vacation reasons. And talking about vacation, I’m going to resume posting in a big way, with a long series of photographs taken in Paris, France.
I thought long if I should choose a less well-known place or a picture postcard for this first post, but I realized that it’s well-nigh impossible to talk about Paris without starting by the Eiffel Tour.

Thus, here are several photographs I’ve taken of the certainly most famous Paris landmark. Hope you like.
