2011 in review

1 01 2012

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Syndey Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 9,600 times in 2011. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 4 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Click here to see the complete report.

Feliz Natal, Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad, Buon Natale, Joyeux Noël, Frohe Weihnachten… =^)

Olinda, Pernambuco, Brazil

8 11 2011

After posting many pictures of Paris, France, it’s time to come back to my homeland, Brazil, but not exactly to my hometown, Sao Paulo.

These pictures I’m posting today are from one of the most beautiful Brazilian cities, Olinda, located at the Pernambuco state.

Olinda features a number of major touristic attractions, such as a historic downtown area (World Heritage Site), churches, and the Carnival of Olinda, a popular street party.

So if you’re planning a visit to Brazil, don’t forget to include Olinda to your plans.

Hope you like the photographs.

Château de Fontainebleau, France

5 11 2011

On this trip to Paris we passed through the Eiffel Tower, Opera Garnier , Louvre , Luxembourg Gardens and the Pantheon and the most beautiful Paris square, the Place des Vosges, at the Marais district.

Now is time to get a train at the Gare de Lyon for either Montargis Sens or Montereau, alighting at the little and charming Fontainebleau-Avon station, then take the ‘Ligne A’ bus destined for Les Lilas, alighting at the ‘Château’ stop. This way you will reach one of the most beautiful places in France. Forget about the beautiful but crowded Versailles. Fontainebleau is the place to go if you’re searching for beauty and tranquility.

Want more information about the Château de Fontainebleau? Take a look: www.musee-chateau-fontainebleau.fr

Hope you like the photographs.
